How Can fever And Vomiting Along With Chills be Treated?

My mom is 88, active but fairly sedentary lifestyle. The last two nights, about an hour after eating a regular, normal dinner, she has experienced severe body-shaking chills, fever, vomiting. She is fine the next morning and all the next day. This is episodal so it can t be the flu she claims it is. Tonight, she did not experience any symptoms, but she had a very light dinner...soup and crackers. I feel concerned that there might be a larger problem that she is ignoring. Should I be worried?

Check whether she has any other symptoms like pain while urinating or pain in her stomach or headache, cough. Considering her age fever needs to be evaluated in a primary care setup or a geriatric setup.
